How many times has it happened that a sheathed cover, both bituminous and slated, would leak to show infiltrations inside!! And moreover, how many times have we tried to solve the problem of infiltrations, without success, always continuing to have a dripping of infiltrations, which, to be lucky, moved from one point to another, without apparent logic.
Money spent, no results.
Wasted time, rather than invested, to find yourself still having to get your hands on the roof, for the umpteenth time, not knowing, among other things, if the latter will be the right time.
We are of course talking about the old and old roofs waterproofed with bituminous or slated sheath, which present infiltrative problems and which, despite the various and repeated interventions made, with various patches or even with the laying of a new layer of sheath over the existing one, infiltrations continue to manifest.
Far be it from me to disparage obviously this type of waterproofing. Any waterproofing system, if well designed, and well made, has its advantages and plus points.
I believe, however, that it is undeniable that when the waterproofed sheathed coverings begin to lose, it is really complicated to solve the infiltration problem, at least not with patches, laying a new sheath, or whatever. Certainly without an adequate study and reasoned analysis of the status quo, thus identifying the truly effective solution, solving the problem is truly a “lottery”.
The execution of the above, that is, the punctual analysis of the status quo and the design of a new waterproofing system, have a cost, which is in itself not negligible.
Often we are forced to intervene quickly, to limit costs, with “patch” solutions which then show little effectiveness.
Often, and I would rightly say, those who design a new waterproofing system in sheath obviously recommend the removal of the existing, now obsolete, which brings the costs of the intervention (in particular because of the waste disposal costs) to very high figures, very long execution times, and having to uncover the roof, with the potential risk of flooding, where the roof is left uncovered during the works.
Moral of the story: three, four or no one knows how many different layers of sheath, one on top of the other, in an attempt to solve the problem once and for all; a year passes, maybe two, and again we are from the beginning; infiltrations and problems are back!!
In my experience, now of twenty years, in the waterproofing sector (little is missing at the age of twenty !! …. time passes so fast) I have seen a considerable amount of old sheathed roofs, which presented these problems, and most of the customers who have come to us have always made their debut saying “Look, we have made a lot of interventions on interventions, patches, sheaths on sheaths, overhaul, etc., but we are back again … just more than this dripping, I am looking for a solution that is definitive, guaranteed and that does not make me waste any more time !!!
Fortunately, there is ONE SOLUTION to all this!
The use of the polyureic membrane, or better to say, of the COVERFLEX ROOFING waterproofing SYSTEM, based on polyureic membranes, allows to intervene on the old sheathed coverings, both bituminous and slated, waterproofing them perfectly through the laying of a single coat, without joints, with high elastic performance, which in fact transforms the cover into a waterproof and waterproof tank.
It requires NO major removal and disposal of the existing coat, it is very fast in its application (with our automated systems designed by us, and CE certified, we can coat up to 1500 square meters per day), it adheres perfectly to the sheath, also turning upside down on verticals in a perfect way, it requires almost no maintenance over the years (or in any case really minimal and perfectly self-manageable), is perfectly forgivable, and a minimum of 10 years is guaranteed with dedicated insurance policies, issued by a primary insurance company.
An effective intervention CANNOT be limited to waterproofing only, but it MUST also include the ANALYSIS OF THE STATUS EXISTING HERE, the analytical IDENTIFICATION OF THE PROBLEMS AND THE CAUSES of the infiltrations, the DESIGN OF the waterproofing INTERVENTION, the EXECUTION OF THE INTERVENTION of art, up to the final phase of GUARANTEE release.
The above is what we do “routinely” both with our internal staff and with our trusted technicians.
In the photo below, I highlight a case of BEFORE and AFTER, of applying COVERFLEX and its result.
